Our 3rd year at MongoDB World! This time we have a team of 7 joining the event. We had the opportunities to network with a few new faces in the event and definitely had many learnings and takeaways from the keynotes and sessions.
We have an official company website and logo! Company logo is one of those things that are hard to come up with as its design elements have to provide a true representation of the company values. Our company website is also revealed and we now have a public presence.
This past June (2016), a few members of the CPF Solutions team had the opportunity to attend the annual MongoDB World Conference along with thousands of others from around the world! Not only was this event a great educational hub for CPF to further develop our skills with the MongoDB database, network with other keen and tech savvy individuals, but it was a great opportunity for some out of country team bonding! Held in New York City this year, MongoDB World is an annual two-day conference that gathers industry professionals and enthusiasts from all over for MongoDB product education, networking and user experience contributions. Our developers and engineers were engaged in various seminars and keynote presentations each day, absorbing as much information as possible to bring back to the rest of the team in the Calgary office. A highlight from the Conference was the keynote speech given by the famous Adam Savage, co-host of MythBusters. I think it’s confident to say our group along with the rest of the attendees truly enjoyed his presentation. He came on stage to share his 14 years of experience with MythBusters. A message that resonated with the team is to not be afraid of knowledge, or your ability to learn new things. He inspires us to be innovative and creative, and not shy away from challenges. We left the conference with all sorts of mixed emotions; a range of highs and lows. Small fish in a very large pond is the expression that could be used to conclude this trip. While we did feel overwhelmed, the conference also gave us a sense of hope and optimism. It reiterates the importance of staying current with technology, and the necessity to be forward thinking and innovative. We are more prepared than ever to invest the time and resources to research new technologies and to facilitate testing environments to help turn our ideas into a reality. We have big dreams to one day be a champion in the technology world, but we will always operate with the heart, passion and ambition of a small start-up. It is safe to say that we are looking forward to next year’s MongoDB World conference!

A new era of CPF began as we coined it "CPF 2.0". This is a kick-off event that was hosted in our home base in Calgary signifying a new beginning for the team. This is definitely a big milestone for us!
